Sumko is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who received his Doctor of Osteopathy cum laude from North Texas State University. In addition, Dr. Sumko has a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he also was employed as an associate professor for seven years. Dr. Sumko has served his country as well, as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Fort Huacha Army Hospital and as Medical Advisor Commander of Academic Health Sciences at Brooke Army Medical Center, where he had completed his residency in orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Sumko has subspecialty training in pediatric orthopedics and sports medicine. He also specializes in unicompartmental, partial and total knee replacements, endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery, ankle reconstruction and anterior cruciate ligament surgery. He was formerly Chief of Staff at Brigham City Community Hospital, and is currently a member of the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Sumko enjoys serving the local community, and he is presently team physician for Box Elder High School.

Matthew F. Bitner, M.D.

Dr. Matthew F. Bitner is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who earned his Doctor of Medicine and his Bachelor of Science in biology from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Bitner completed his residency at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center of Texas Tech University. He is a highly skilled and widely experienced orthopaedic surgeon, and a member of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Bitner spent two years in missionary service, and he is currently serving as team physician for Bear River High School. He also enjoys spending time with his family, gentleman farming, playing sports, woodworking, appreciating music and riding horses.

Daniel D. Higbee, D.O.

Dr. Daniel Higbee joined OrthoUtah in 2010. He is a highly skilled surgeon, with advanced training in a wide range of musculoskeletal disease. He treats work and sports-related injuries, joint disease, and traumatic fractures. He specializes in joint preservation through arthroscopic surgery, including Hip arthroscopy, which he introduced to Box Elder County. He is also proud to bring the anterior total hip replacement procedure to Northern Utah, allowing faster recovery from pain and a quicker return to function following hip replacement surgery.

Originally from Twin Falls, Idaho, Dr. Higbee completed his medical degree at Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. He then completed his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Michigan State University’s Genesys Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. While there he served as team physician for the Flint Generals, a local professional hockey team, and was a chief resident of orthopaedic surgery. He also won first place nationwide two different years for his research on traumatic complicated wrist fractures.

Dr. Higbee has enjoyed being involved in the community since arriving. He has served as a speaker for the Brigham City Community Hospital’s Women’s forum, the BCCH H2U program, and at different church forums in the community. He is currently on the BCCH trauma committee. He is a team physician for Box Elder High School and participates in the community health fairs. He is a member of the Utah Orthopedic Society, the Utah Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the American Osteopathic Association. In his free time he spends time fly fishing, golfing, and backpacking with his family.

Travis A. Peterson, D.O.

Dr. Peterson is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery with additional Fellowship Training and Subspecialty Certification in Hand Surgery. He specializes in hand surgery as well as general orthopedics and fracture care. He particularly enjoys caring for patients with hand and upper extremity problems including: hand/wrist fractures, tendon/ligament injuries, carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, hand/wrist arthritis, trigger fingers, ganglion cysts and other hand masses, Dupuytren’s contracture and tendonitis. He practiced in Washington State for seven years before joining OrthoUtah in August of 2018. He and his wife Britt have 6 children and look forward to enjoying the perks of life in northern Utah. He operates at Brigham City Community Hospital as well as Bear River Hospital, and sees patients in our Farr West, Brigham City and Tremonton locations.

Tumco Lho, nicknamed Tum,[1] is a former slave in Meereen training to become a knight.[2]

Appearance

Tumco is young and dark skinned.[2] He has dark eyes and can speak the Common Tongue as well as the tongue of his native Basilisk Isles.[3]

History

Tumco is originally from the Basilisk Isles. He was training in the fighting pits of Meereen when Daenerys Targaryentook the city and freed the slaves from their chains.[2]

Recent Events

A Dance with Dragons

Tumco spends most of A Dance with Dragons in training in the Great Pyramid to become a knight, as a squire to Ser Barristan Selmy. Strong and fast, the youth already has a good acquaintance with sword and battle-axe. Barristan thinks Tumco shows much promise as he is the best natural swordsman he has seen since Jaime Lannister. Along with Larraq he is Barristan's best squire.[2]

When Barristan goes down to the dungeons to tell Gerris Drinkwater and Archibald Yronwood of Quentyn Martell's demise, he takes with him two newly-made knights, Ser Tumco and the Red Lamb.[1]

The Winds of Winter

On the brink of battle against the Yunkish besiegers, Tumco carries the banner of House Targaryen. Barristan realizes that Tumco is more afraid of the Pale Mare - spreading through the siege camps and launched into the city via trebuchet - than he is of their foes.[3]
